Byureghik Mneyan was born in 1935 in Vardenis, Armenia, in the family of Saghatel Mneyan, an honored pedagogue of the Republic of Armenia. In 1936 their family moved to New Bayazet (now called Gavar), Armenia. Since 1955 she has worked in “Gavar Dramatic Theatre by L.Kalantar” as an actress. Simultaneously she has studied and graduated from the Yerevan Pedagogical Institute, Department of Linguistics. During these years she has performed over 200 plays. It is worth to mention her role of David Copperfield in Charles Dickens’s play, which was followed by a whole list of various heroines of modern and classical playwrights. They include Sona – in Shirvanzade’s “Evil Spirit”, Mashenka – in Sfinagenov’s “Mashenka”, Voskemazik – in Mahari’s “Sing of Love and Loyalty”, Isabel – in Boukovchyan’s “Luiji’s Heart”, Martina – in Moliere’s “Doctor in Spite of Himself”, Arous – in Matevosyan’s “Autumn Sun”, Anoush – in Paronyan’s “Brother Paghdasar”, Soffi – in “Marriage”, Krouchinina – in Ostrovsky’s “Unguilty guilties”, Oustian – in Demirchyan’s “Brave Nazar”, Anoush Mommy – in Gevorgyan’s “Anoush Mommy” and many others.

Byureghik Mneyan has played with such professional actors as Avet Avetissyan, David Malyan, Karp Khachvankyan, Armen Khostikyan, and has continuously received high evaluations by them. In 1967 the Armenian Soviet Republic and the Ministry of Culture awarded her with diplomas, and in 1970 – with an anniversary medal. In 1978 she received a title of an “Honored Actress of RA”. During the 120-th anniversary of the theatre in 2003 she was awarded with a gratifying letter by the president of RA and with a diploma by the Ministry of RA. At her 70-th anniversary at 2005 she was awarded with a diploma by the Ministry of Cultural and Youth Problems.

In connection with the 50-th anniversary of the actress, the theatrical specialist Suren Harutunyan has written about the actress in the book “Theatricals and Plays”. The books “Biographical dictionary (Armenian artists)” by Garnik Stepanyan, “Famous Bayazet people”, “Soviet Encyclopedia” include the name and activity of Byureghik Mneyan as well.

While working in the theatre the actress has also performed public works. During many years she has been the secretary of the party organization in the theatre as well as a member of “Knowledge” organization, Writers Union of Sevan Region, authorial group of “Kiavar” book. She has written many poems, plays for children, memos about theatre. She is currently the head of the artistic group of the “Art School” of Gavar.
